Ripasso Della Valpolicella Doc – Bottle £34

A superior wine from Veneto, produced from the same grape variety used to make the famous Amarone wine. Ruby red with a bouquet of rich red fruits. The palate is bursting with flavours of cherries and plums, surrounded with a pleasant unassuming hint of spicy oak.

Primitivo Salento lgt, Masseria Capoforte – Bottle £36

A fantastic wine, winner of numerous awards. Produced from selected vineyards in the Puglia region, south of Italy. Grapes are hand-picked with care. Superbly structured in the mouth, with a velvety texture and rounded mouth feel, fine-grained tannins and judicious acidity. Impressively rich, yet crisp, it concludes with a finish laced with fragrant cocoa powder, espresso bean and vanilla.

Bolgheri Doc Rosso – Bottle £50

Antillo is our Bolgheri Rosso (Red) characterised above all by the prevalence of Sangiovese. It is a historical variety of the territory, present in our vineyards at least since the mid-nineteenth century, in a documented way. Sangiovese has almost completely disappeared in Bolgheri, especially since the late 80’s, but for us it was important to keep up it as part of our roots.

Casa di Grazia Victorya 1607 – Bottle £62

1607 Victoria Henriquez gives her colonists a mission: cultivate vineyards. After four centuries Maria Grazia evoking her figure creates Vitorya. From the limpidity of its cherry red colour to the fragrance notes of strawberry an indian fig you can get the velvety tannins.

Il Bruciato – Bottle £67

The 206 Bruciato offers an intense ruby red colour. On the nose, the aromas of ripe berry fruit, sweet spices, and a light and fresh minty note are the most prominent sensations. The palate is well structured, persistent, and very pleasurable in its fruity finish and aftertaste.

Barolo Terre del Barolo – Piedmont – Bottle £51

This brick red wine has a complex, woody nose, with a lingering flavour of liquorice on the palate.

Special House Selection

Poggio al Vento Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG – £187

Complex, smart and elegant wine. The typical aromas of the Sangiovese are balanced by the classic spicy aromas originating from the long ageing barrel. Powerful and harmonic, the tannins are ripe and enveloping, well balanced with a pleasant acidity. Fruity, long and lasting aftertaste.

Tignanello – £197

The 2015 Tignanello is a very intense ruby red in colour. On the nose, the notes of ripe red fruit, together with cassis and blackberries, are in perfect balance with the hints of chocolate and liquorice. The palate is rich, ample, and vibrant and is endowed with lively and silky tannins which give a great complexity and an important length to the finish and aftertaste.

Sassicaia 2015 – £347

Bright and mineral nose with delicate summer fruits. Full and fresh with a sumptuous fruit explosion (cherry, blackberry) on the palate, before a whack of tertiary characters: black olive, dark chocolate, liquorice and toffee. There’s vanilla and cedar too from the oak and sticky tannins that are very prominent but nicely integrated. It really opened up on the second visit, 20 minutes after the first, where a smidgen of pink peppercorn spice could also be found.

Solaia 2014 – £405

The 2014 Solaia will be released during the second half of 2017. This is a fine-tuned expression that shows a focused sense of detail and careful attention. The quota of Cabernet Franc has been upped by a hair and this makes a big difference, especially in terms of the wine’s bouquet. Otherwise, this celebrated Tuscan blend is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with Sangiovese. It opens to dark fruit aromas with crushed mineral, pipe tobacco, pressed flower and toasted spice. Its appearance is midnight black and profound. The wine delivers a sense of sheer excitement and nervousness that will subside with another few years of bottle age. Nonetheless, I think a certain amount of that bright edginess or rigidness will always be part of this cool vintage Solaia. In the mouth, the wine is firm, compact and dense. The tannins are chiseled to the point of sublime integration. Marchesi Antinori made 40% less Solaia in this vintage in order to maintain the quality of your taste here.
